Arabidopsis thaliana, a member of the Brassicaceae family, is used as an ideal model for molecular and physiological studies because of its short life cycle, small size, small genome (135 Mbp), ease in mutagenesis analysis and genetic transformation. Agrobacterium-mediated floral dip method with easily operating and high successful rate is widely used in Arabidopsis transformation.
