We also explored the role of MAF1 on host cell gene expression by comparing profiles of WT and MAVS KO MEFs infected with Type I and Type Imaf1KO parasites. We used microarrays to detail the global programme of gene expression underlying cellularisation and identified distinct classes of up-regulated genes during this process. WT MEFs were infected with Type II and Type II:MAF1 parasites at an MOI of 5. At 8 hpi RNA was harvested using TriZol.
